The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Richard Hy can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

LUCILLE (IANNI) WOZNIAK

Rich and I both lived on Grand Island in our teens and went to the same high school, Tonawanda High, because there was no high school on the Island. I would see him everyday at the bus stop for school which was right by his house. The last time I saw Rich was at a Sidway School reunion on Grand Island. Rich was one of the nicest people that I knew. He was always smiling and I remember his laugh like it was yesterday. He was a kind and loving soul. We both loved to dance and would dance together at some of our many "hops" that the school had. I am not surprised that he went on to be a teacher. He had the right personality for it. Sending sympathy to his family. I am sure he will be very much missed.
