Influence

Growing up I never realized how much influence on my adult life various family members would have. Uncle Ray always had interesting stories of situations he was either involved in and\or knew someone that was ā€“ those stories were intriguing as a kid, entertaining as an adult! Oddly enough the fondest memories are smells of automobile paint, the sounds of huge shop size air compressors and sanders and a number of other perilous dangers lurking all through the collision shops my Uncles have owned as a kid. Thanks for bringing me with you Dad; man, what an adventure - those were great times! At one point I used to think Ray and my Dad were tennis pros. Watching them volley back and forth in a Wimbledon match competition was serious stuff. Iā€™m sure I added an enhanced level of play as their frustration grew just trying to keep me out of trouble. Anyway, now that I have my own shop (as a hobby not a business) those smells of automotive paint, working sheet metal and the loud annoying sound of my air compressor bring back some great memories ā€“ Thanks Uncle Ray!
